Welcome to the TechYeet Community—we're excited you're here! By joining and participating, you agree to follow these Community Rules ("Rules"). If you don't agree, you must not access or participate in the Community. Violation of these Rules may result in suspension or removal from the Community.

General Behavior Expectations
TechYeet is a very diverse and eclectic tech community so please conduct yourself professionally and appropriately. These are the expectations for our members across all platforms:

Be open to networking; that's why we're here.

Treat everyone with respect, patience, and kindness.

If you experience an issue, ask the person to stop and attempt to resolve it respectfully. If necessary, contact an Admin.
Unacceptable behavior includes (but is not limited to):

Harassment, bullying, or abusive behavior

Discriminatory jokes or language

Posting sexually explicit, violent, or personally identifying ("doxing") content

Trolling, stalking, or unwelcome sexual attention

Violating any laws

Platform-Specific Rules

Slack
As the primary platform for the community, members socially and professionally network so using a display name and profile photo that match your LinkedIn is highly recommended.

Each Slack channel has a Canvas explaining its purpose. Find, review, and follow them, and do not modify official Canvases.

No sales posts; The exception is the #sponsored-by channel—refer to that Canvas for information.

No unsolicited sales DMs.

Political posts only in channels starting with #politics

Religious posts only in channels starting with #religion

If you are unsure about anything, ask in the #how-to-techyeet channel

Event Promoters follow these guidelines:

The #techyeet-events channel is only for official TechYeet events.

Free Virtual Events? Post them in the #free-virtual-events channel.

Free In-Person Events? Post in the appropriate #neighborhood channel and do not spam multiple channels.

Paid Events? These are sales posts so using the #sponsored-by channel is required—refer to that Canvas for information.

We use this for gaming and having fun with fellow community members. Bonus: match your Discord name to your Slack name and earn a special "blue" name!

Legal
Contributions:

Anything you post to the Community (such as messages, images, videos, documents, etc.) is considered non-confidential and non-proprietary.

By posting, you grant TechYeet a perpetual, worldwide, royalty-free license to use, reproduce, modify, display, distribute, and sublicense your content in any format for any purpose.

You are responsible for ensuring that anything you post does not infringe on others’ rights.
Photography and Recordings:

You grant TechYeet permission to photograph, video record, and use your name, image, likeness, and voice in any media now known or later developed without further approval or compensation.
Conduct:

You are solely responsible for your behavior and posted content.

You agree to defend, indemnify, and hold harmless TechYeet and its affiliates from any claims, liabilities, damages, or expenses arising out of your actions or Contributions.
Medical Treatment and Risks:

You voluntarily assume all risks associated with participation.

You authorize TechYeet to seek emergency medical care if needed at your own expense.

You waive and release TechYeet from any claims related to injury or medical care.
Limitation of Liability:

TechYeet will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages related to your participation.
Disputes:

Governed by the laws of the State of Colorado. Any disputes must be filed exclusively in the courts located in Denver, Colorado. You waive any right to a jury trial or to participate in a class action lawsuit.

Final Notes

We may update these Rules at any time. Check back occasionally.

If any part of the Rules is invalidated, the rest still applies.

Your participation is voluntary and unpaid.

And again, if you do not agree to these Rules then you must not participate and you must leave the Community.
